La Jetée Press Inaugural Publication: "Fighting to be Heard: How the British Aerospace 146 Started the Regional Jet Revolution" by Brian Wiklem
It is a dream come true for me- to publish high quality books on aviation history
Those who know me know that I have a passion for history (if that wasn’t immediately apparent from some of my writing here), but in particular, aviation history. My study is crammed full of books on aviation history. I love used bookstores and looking for aviation titles not yet in my library. Three years ago, one of my long time friends of twenty years and fellow “avgeek”, Tom Harris, invited me to join him in starting our own publishing business which he named “La Jetée Press”. This is from his own description of our founding and publishing mission:
It was frustration that led Tom Harris to found La Jetee Press. A life-long aviation enthusiast, Tom found himself disappointed with the aviation books on the market. They rarely covered pivotal subjects and when they did, they lacked historical context. An industry as rich as aviation needs its stories told with nuance, in complete narratives that consider the politics, culture, and defining moments of the era. An aircraft is more than metal; its very existence is shaped by the intentions of its human creators and the world they navigated.
In 2020, Tom decided to publish the kind of books he wanted to read. He partnered with writer JP Santiago, who brings an unparalleled knowledge of aviation and geopolitical history, and artist Gaël Elegoët, whose work elevates aircraft beyond cold, clinical side views in a way that makes you feel like you’re looking at a photograph.
Every La Jetee Press release features extensive research, detailed schematics, and stunning art and photography—some of it never published before. These are books you will want to keep and revisit for years to come.
We have just released our inaugural publication, "Fighting to be Heard: How the British Aerospace 146 Started the Regional Jet Revolution", a comprehensive history and labor of love by aviation film-maker and author by Brian Wiklem.
The book will come in two editions, the standard edition and a G-LUXE special edition that comes with extras and is presented in an orange clamshell hard case. These photos are of the Statesman edition with a blue case that was given to those who helped Brian Wiklem with the book.

I cannot stress enough the pride and excitement I have for Brian’s epic volume on the most successful commercial aircraft program in British aviation history and him letting us be his publisher.
This is a book that sets a new standard in aviation publishing for presentation, content and quality.
